Mac Pro performs best running Windows 7

Mac OS X, the supposed most advanced operating system in the world, fell flat on its face yet again as it was revealed that severe driver issues are causing a 20% drop in performance when audio is used on Apple's most expensive workstations.

Even more telling is the fact that there's no performance hit when the system is running Windows 7, proving that Apple obviously had better things to design when it came time to write the system drivers for the $2,500+ computer's motherboard:

"Strangely, booting affected Mac Pros into Windows 7 also eliminates the problems, leading one user to suspect the issue is related to power management kernel extensions. Additional tests show that the problem happens even when FireWire or USB audio interfaces are plugged, even if they aren't actively being used."

This is yet another strike against Apple's beleaguered claims of energy efficiency, with Snow Leopard already having wasted a massive amount of energy during the DST changeover late last year.

To Mac Pro owners: you sure got told. By Apple. Maybe you should consider buying a more powerful computer for audio use. They're called netbooks.

I think it's clear that of the two, Windows 7 is the most advanced.

How sad is it, that on a system where you supposedly "design the hardware and software to work together flawlessly" a third party Operating System works better? Stay told Apple. Stay Told...

I have to work with mac pro's with ~24" mac monitors at autodesk (makers of 3dsmax etc) and they all run windows 7 by default, and all the mac one-button-for-left-and-right-click mice were terrible and didn't last 2 days before they were all swapped with microsoft brand mice.

So basically to make them practical we have to "reduce" them to a fancy aluminum pc, then we can appreciate the better cable management that apple probably has patented in and out the ass.

Holy shit, most of the macfags are actually realizing apple sucks. I guess all the recent fails are canceling out the Realty Distortion Field. They're all starting to think Apple is better off a Mobile Only company, some even say "Just build your own computer and get a Hackintosh", some even praising Microsoft for just being better! This is amazing. Simply amazing. Unless Apple gets up quickly, it's done for.

Took 'em just three years to realize, why exactly Apple removed "Computers" out of their name. :D

Nobody cares about Linux. It's still better than whatever Apple pulls out if it's ass though.
