Like Bruce Schneier says, security is a process. You need a whole culture of it and rigidly enforced practices at every level, before during and after coding, or it can't be achieved. Microsoft faced up to this around the time of XP SP2, Apple still haven't. They take so long to patch serious known vulnerabilities they can't even really be said to practice the desperate firefighting method. |
