* Child labour.
* Permanently injuring workers with nerve poisons.
* Stasi management leading to "suicides".
* Total disregard for workplace safety / toxic waste regulations.
* Falsifying records. (So what has been successfully hidden?)
* More than HALF of their factories confirmed to be sweatshops.

>Apple has not stopped using the factories.

Not any of them. Not even temporarily.

Huge Apple tax margins, highly successful products ... and they'd still rather their workers were abused, maimed and killed than make slightly less profit. This isn't really a Told. It's not funny. It's just disgusting.

So, Apple abuses child-labor and >60+ hour workdays in poisonous unsanitary factories, and passes the savings on to you?

No, wait, they keep those too.

Followup: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/malcolmmoore/100027849/apples-factories-a...

tl;dr = these investigations very rarely result in any penalties and have completely failed to stop the abuses getting worse, i.e. they are purely a PR exercise and Apple don't really give a shit.

It's an expensive prestige brand, which trades mostly on its right-on hipster cool, responsible, funky and environmentally friendly image. It is 100% valid to criticise them when it turns out that this is a façade covering up sweatshops and mass poisonings. Apple have the power to stop this happening, instead it's getting worse because they'd rather protect their huge profit margins.

PC factory....you mean the people making the same parts that make up PC's and Mac's?

Only manufacturers for shitty cheap parts that people avoid do this kind of unprofessional cheap slave shit, and those are the kind of parts that make up Macs nowadays, which is why almost the entire latest lineup across the board from macs to mac pros to macbooks are defective.

Apple markets it's toys as a fashion accessory for the kind of bleeding hearts that worry about working conditions in obscure foreign countries, and not only is Apple charging them 2-3x more than anyone else, they're building their shit as cheaply as possible, from the cheapest parts, from shit "pcfags' avoid like the plague.

Looking at the specs, that would be acceptable for a 15-17" laptop, not a fucking desktop. Hell, not even; for the $700 range, the laptop would probably at least have 4 GB RAM, a 2.4ghz Core 2 Quad, a Geforce 280 GTX and a 500 GB HDD, all built better than the scraps Apple uses in their toys.
