Coming right after the iphone USB doing the same thing (http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2010/07/08/iphone-4-catches-fire/) I have to wonder if apple's engineers understand basic electronics. Voltage / current regulation on this scale only requires a few cheap components, e.g. L200C. Short of splicing your iproduct directly into the mains this just shouldn't be able to happen. |
